The CIA is the most powerful secret police force in the world. Po vydání knihy v Anglii - byla mezitím přeložena do 12 jazyků - je Agee v červnu 1977 vypovězen a odchází do Holandska. V roce 1978 byl čestným hostem XI. světového festivalu mládeže a studenstva v Havaně.
