The efficient management of a consistent and integrated database is a central task in modern IT and highly relevant for science and industry. Hardly any critical enterprise solution comes without any functionality for managing data in its different forms. Web-Scale Data Management for the Cloud addresses fundamental challenges posed by the need and desire to provide database functionality in the context of the Database as a Service (DBaaS) paradigm for database outsourcing. Das ehemalige Zisterzienserkloster Fürstenfeld, ein imposanter Bau- komplex im Ampertal unweit von München, ist in jüngerer Zeit immer wieder zum Gegenstand des Interesses von Kirchen-, Wirtschafts- und Kunsthistorikern geworden. Viele Aspekte, beginnend mit der Zeit seiner Gründung im Jahr 1258/63 über den Barock bis herauf in die unglückseligen Jahre der Säkularisation 1802/03, wurden eingehend untersucht. Ein großer blinder Fleck unter den Darstellungen blieb die stürmische Zeit des 16. Jahrhunderts: Mit dem Jahr 1496, dem Todesjahr des gelehrten Fürstenfelder Abtes Leonhard I. Eggenhofer (1480-1496), starb in Fürstenfeld das späte Mittelalter. 1623 verstarb Abt Sebastian Thoma (1610-1623), und im gleichen Jahr fand mit der Bestätigung der Oberdeutschen Zisterzien- serkongregation die Reformationszeit für den Orden ihren endgültigen Abschluß. Dazwischen liegen 130 spannungsgeladene, dramatische Jahre: die Nachblüte des späten Mittelalters, die Spannungen und Umbrüche im Zusammenhang mit Reformation und Katholischer Reform sowie die Neuausrichtung des kirchlichen Lebens in der Folge des Konzils von Trient. Die vorliegende Arbeit beleuchtet die Ereignisse dieser Zeit, die sich auch im Kloster Fürstenfeld exemplarisch widerspiegeln.
