Donat fährt mit dem Zug in die große Stadt, um dort ein Praktikum anzutreten. Die Suche nach seiner Ansprechperson gestaltet sich schwierig. Im immer unübersichtlicher werdenden Labyrinth des riesigen Gebäudekomplexes begegnet er merkwürdigen Personen und immer seltsameren Situationen. Gekonnt entführt der Autor den Leser in eine kafkaeske Zwischenwelt. Angesichts der teilweise skurrilen Zustände in der Welt des immerhin 21. Jahrhunderts fragt man sich als Leser jedoch unwillkürlich, ob nicht ähnliche Entwicklungen in der realen Welt durchaus möglich sein könnten. Eine packende, fesselnde Lektüre.
