Anotace Tahiti je krásný, slunný ostrov bezstarostných lidí. Dnes přitažlivý pro exotickou dovolenou, před téměř čtvrt tisíciletím objevený kapitánem Wallisem (v roce 1767 na lodi Delfín) a od té doby znovu a znovu navštěvovaný nejen slavnými mořeplavci. Deník kapitána Cooka „klipovým“ způsobem prozrazuje, co viděl a zažil, co ho překvapilo a co dokonce přineslo konflikty.
