The story follows two teenage siblings stranded on a desolate island after their boat is damaged in a storm during a vacation in New Zealand. With no navigation tools and limited resources, they must rely on the wisdom of their Māori ancestors, along with their own scientific knowledge, to survive. The siblings reinvent traditional navigation techniques and work together to design and build a new boat, embarking on a challenging journey to sail back home after months of isolation. Themes of resilience, cultural heritage, and ingenuity are central to their adventure.
