Anish Kapoor's sculptures represent an important position in contemporary art. Born in Bombay in 1954 and living in London since the early 1970s, he combines Western and Eastern influences to create special work. He became famous with large-scale sculptures in public spaces, most recently on the occasion of the Olympic games in London in 2012. His multi awardwinning work (1991 Turner prize) has been exhibited worldwide since his first solo exhibition in 1980. The monograph gives a concentrated overview of his diverse oeuvre of the last 40 years, from the pigment works to the mirror works and large polished sculptures. In the main section, the temporary, site-related works in the Martin-Gropius-Bau, such as the "....." in the spectacular, central hall, are documented in sketches, models and installation photos. These new works, which impressively frame the architecture of the Martin-Gropius-Bau, are elaborately illustrated and elucidated.

At the Well , produced to coincide with an exhibition of Neo Rauch's (born 1960) new works at David Zwirner in New York, brings together both small- and large-format paintings that expand the artist's unique iconography of eccentric figures, animals and hybrids within vaguely familiar but imaginary settings. This oversized catalogue―designed in close collaboration with the artist―is anchored by 16 stunning plates and numerous 1:1 details that give viewers intimate access to these compelling compositions. Themes of rebirth and new beginnings Rauch consistently creates characters who appear to be in the process of transformation. At the Well features an essay by art historian and curator Sir Norman Rosenthal, who presents a careful reading of Rauch's new work. The book also includes a reprint of the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tale "The Young Giant," specifically chosen by Rosenthal to further expand his analysis.

Adversity is an irreducible fact of life. Although we can and should learn from all experiences, both positive and negative, bestselling author Dr. Norman E. Rosenthal, believes that adversity is by far the best teacher most of us will ever encounter. Running counter to society's current prevailing message that 'excellence' must always be aspired to, and failure or mistakes of any sort are to be avoided at all costs, Rosenthal shows that engaging with our own failures and defeats is one of the only ways we are able to live authentic and meaningful lives, and that each different type of adversity carries its own challenges and has the potential to yield its own form of wisdom. Using stories from his own life including his childhood in apartheid-era South Africa, his years after suffering a violent attack from a stranger, and his career as a psychiatrist as well as case studies and discussions with well-known figures like Viktor Frankl and David Lynch, Rosenthal shows that true innovation, emotional resilience, wisdom, and dignity can only come from confronting and understanding the adversity we have experienced
