Welcome to QueerWarsaw – Poland’s capital city! Warsaw is the city we live in; the city we love for its openness and hospitality, for architectonic chaos and the energy that drives us in our activities. We want to describe it, because it still hasn’t been discovered in full. Everyone is invited to Warsaw: gays and lesbians, bisexuals, transgendered and queer persons. Come and discover that Eastern Europe is not confined to homophobic behaviours, nationalistic politicians or laws banning “gay propaganda.” We must admit – it is still a battlefield for public space. However, by means of this guidebook, we want to show we have always been here and describe this presence. The book does not concentrate on the “now”, but on the hitherto unknown past.
