Třináctiletí Niles a Holland jsou nerozlučná dvojčata; jsou na sebe opravdu hodně napojení, ale čtenář si spíš vzpomene na Jekylla a Hydea: zatímco Niles je hodný kluk schopný soucitu s nemocnou maminkou a vlastně i s ostatními, Holland je škodolibý darebák, který vše shazuje a ironizuje.
