Ilon Wikland est une illustratrice célébrée dont le style artistique s'est affiné grâce à des études à Stockholm et dans d'autres villes européennes. L'œuvre de sa vie est intrinsèquement liée aux écrits d'Astrid Lindgren, pour qui elle a créé des illustrations emblématiques profondément inspirées par l'atmosphère des textes. Wikland possédait une remarquable capacité à capturer visuellement l'essence des histoires, donnant forme à des personnages inoubliables. Sa vaste collection d'illustrations originales a été offerte à l'Estonie, témoignant de sa contribution unique à la littérature jeunesse.
