Beecher Stowe is thrilled to spend the festive season between Thanksgiving and Christmas in the Hamptons. His return coincides with East Hampton's charming Santa Claus parade, featuring a high school band and Santa on a flatbed truck, embodying a nostalgic American village Christmas. Stowe has even persuaded his lady friend, Alix Dunraven, to join him for an off-season getaway. However, their plans are disrupted by the unexpected arrival of a small girl, possibly named "Susannah," who is precocious, skinny, and armed with a platinum card. She is the daughter of Dick and Nicole, a wealthy couple embroiled in a bitter divorce that has captured media attention and even reached the World Court. Susannah has been sent to a Swiss convent by her parents. As Christmas approaches, she arrives in East Hampton, eager to spend the holidays with her idol, Martha Stewart, expecting a warm welcome at her door. Unfortunately, Martha is celebrating Christmas at her other home in Westport, Connecticut. As snow begins to fall, Beecher finds a dejected Susannah at The Blue Parrot bar, sipping Shirley Temples. Can Beecher and Alix find a way to bring Christmas cheer to this lost little girl?
