Le parcours d'écriture de Meg Alexander a commencé dans son enfance avec des pièces de théâtre pour le divertissement familial. Tout au long de sa vie, elle a exploré le journalisme indépendant, couvrant des sujets variés allant du crime et de la psychologie au jardinage et à la cuisine. Son parcours professionnel a été varié, incluant des rôles de représentante commerciale, de cuisinière professionnelle et dans l'administration. Après sa retraite, elle a déménagé en Espagne où elle a tenu une chronique de jardinage et écrit des articles de voyage avant de retourner en Angleterre.
