Ted, le jeune palefrenier, compte beaucoup pour Heartland... et pour Laura. Comme elle, il s'investit totalement dans la prise en charge des chevaux. Mais leur amitié est mise en péril par l'arrivée de John, un nouveau palefrenier. Et avant que Laura réalise qu'elle a trop négligé Ted, ce dernier risque d'avoir quitté Heartland... pour toujours.

Tim Fleming revient à Heartland ! Si Lou est ravie, Laura l'est un peu moins : revoir après toutes ces années ce père qui les a abandonnées... Pour tromper son angoisse, Laura se consacre entièrement à Plume, un jeune cheval indomptable. Mais rien à faire : les questions se bousculent toujours dans sa tête. Le grand jour arrive pourtant. Comment vont se passer les retrouvailles ?

Amy voelt zich helemaal thuis op Heartland. Haar moeder heeft een speciale gave om contact te krijgen met angstige en wilde paarden en ze af te richten. Amy is zelf ook gek van paarden. Ze probeert zoveel mogelijk van haar moeder te leren en hoopt dat zij ook het talent heeft om naar paarden te luisteren en te begrijpen wat ze nodig hebben. Dan verandert alles door een tragisch ongeluk. Amy blijft wanhopig achter. Ze heeft nauwelijks ervaring en de enige logische oplossing lijkt Heartland sluiten. Maar dat wil Amy niet laten gebeuren...
