Le vénérable manoir devient le théâtre d'extraordinaires rencontres tandis que, de petits drames en grandes révélations, Miranda découvre certaines vérités sur son passé, et aussi de nouvelles raisons d'espérer... Brillant dans l'art du portrait et dans l'ironie légère qui a fait la renommée des romancières anglaises, Victoria Clayton construit ici un merveilleux roman d'atmosphère au charme délicieusement envoûtant.
