Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756 – 1791) war unbestritten ein musikalisches Genie. Viele seiner Kompositionen wie „Cosi fan tutte“, „Die Hochzeit des Figaro“ oder sein Spätwerk „Die Zauberflöte“ sind heute weltberühmt. Schon in jungen Jahren gehörte das musikalische Wunderkind zur damaligen Elite. Der Autor: Philip Jodidio (geboren 1954) studierte Kunstgeschichte und Wirtschaftswissenschaften an der Harvard-Universität und war über zwei Jahrzehnte lang Chefredakteur der französischen Kunstzeitschrift Connaissance des Arts. Er hat zahlreiche Artikel und Buchpublikationen verfasst, unter anderem die bei TASCHEN erschienene Reihe Architecture Now! sowie Monografien über Tadao Ando, Norman Foster, Richard Meier, Jean Nouvel und Zaha Hadid. Jodidio gilt international als einer der bekanntesten Autoren zum Thema Architektur.

Abstract expressionism emerged in the 1940s in America, influenced by Arshile Gorky's innovative work. Dokumentačně monografická publikace PhDr. Jitky Kňourkové zachycuje divadelní, rozhlasovou tvorbu a režijní práci prof. Lubomíra Poživila (1927 - 2020) v období od r. 1948 do 2015. Cílem publikace je poskytnout souhrnný přehled Poživilovy tvorby v rámci české divadelní a hudební kultury. Kromě divadelních režií v mosteckém divadle, kde byly zakázány tři hry (Ibsenova Nora-1953, Slomczynského-Osamění 1957, Marceauovo-Vajíčko 1959), se autorka zaměřuje na kompletní scénické nastudování Trilogie o Hippodamii Jaroslava Vrchlického/Zdeňka Fibicha v r. 1954 a další Poživilovy režijní počiny. Pražské období jako ředitel Městských divadel pražských (1972 - 1990) představuje další fázi jeho tvůrčí činnosti. V letech 1979–1984 natočil v SUPRAPHONu šestidílnou antologii Českého melodramu, doplněnou dvěma díly melodramu světového (1987–1989), což bylo dílo encyklopedické a průkopnické. Publikace rovněž dokumentuje jeho režijní práci při uvádění koncertních melodramů, včetně velkých orchestrálních provedení. Poživil se významně zapsal také v Českém rozhlase, zejména svými cykly zaměřenými na tematiku slova a hudby, divadla a hudby, a významné osobnosti jako Erik Satie, E. F. Burian a Glenn Gould.
