Henry II is the most imposing figure among the medieval kings of England. His fiefs and domains extended from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean, and his court was frequented by the greatest thinkers and men of letters of his time, besides ambassadors from all over Europe. Pierwotne chrześcijaństwo nie zamierzało mieć nic wspólnego z walką zbrojną, ale rychło sytuacja zaczęła się zmieniać. Kościół rósł w potęgę i chciał dysponować siłą zbrojną do obrony interesów swoich i utożsamianej z tymi interesami feudalnej Europy. Tworzone przy udziale dostojników kościelnych zakony rycerskie miały się wraz z rycerstwem świeckim podjąć dzieła największego - odbicia Ziemi Świętej z rąk muzułmanów. Druga część książki Barbera "The Knight and Chivalry". Jak widać polityka rozdzielania pierwowzorów na dwie książki ma się w Polsce nadal nieźle. W końcu trzeba zarobić na czytelnikach. Tym samym sumarycznie książki są droższe od oryginału w Anglii.
