It has been the object of the author, in writing this book, to present the subject of Biochemistry in close relationship to Physiology, so that the student may perceive the intimate dependence of these two science upon one another and come to regard physiological chemistry in its true light, as the foundation upon which we must ultimately build our interpretations of the functions of living matter.
