Nie je to však „obyčajná“ kniha o detstve, je stefánssonovsky povýšená na poetickú esej o plynutí času, zrode a zániku, o životnej potrebe mať sa o koho oprieť, aby sme nespadli, sekvojovec, najväčší druh stromu na svete, je na to ako stvorený.
