Beautiful renegade Anne Bonny disguised herself as a man and joined a pirate crew in Nassau in 1718. Captured off the Jamaican coast two years later, she was convicted of piracy on the high seas and condemned to hang. Though never pardoned or paroled, there is no record that she died in prison.
