Morrisonův apokalyptický příběh se v tomhle díle dočká svého rozuzlení. Mutanti jsou tak blízko svému vyhlazení, jako snad nikdy předtím. Šílená Cassandra má nejen tělo a mozek profesora Xaviera, ale i celou Shi´arskou flotilu na povel. A to už je nějaká síla. Beast je v kómatu a John Sublime a jeho U-Meni jsou čím dál nebezpečnější a mocnější. Prostě jde o kejhák. Grant Morrison dokázal, že zvládá jak psychedelické podivnosti, tak monumentální akční superhrdinské (a taky trochu psychedelické) eposy. Jeho období patří k jedněm z nejslavnějších v dějinách X-Menů... na čemž má zásluhu také precizní kresba Ethana Van Scivera, Franka Quitelyho a dalších.
