En 1973, el fotoperiodista holandés Chas Gerretsen recibió el prestigioso premio ‘Robert Capa Gold Medal Award’ por sus imágenes de Chile. El 9 de enero de 1973, Gerretsen llegó a Santiago donde fotografió los momentos más convulses del país. Sus fotografías históricas cubren el último año del gobierno de Allende y el golpe militar que dio lugar al régimen de Pinochet.
