Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2006 im Fachbereich Soziologie - Klassiker und Theorierichtungen, Note: 2,0, Helmut-Schmidt-Universität - Universität der Bundeswehr Hamburg, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: »Macht Unterschiede: Nicht nur eine Frage des ökonomischen Kapitals«, so der Titel des Referats welches im Wintertrimester 2006 im Rahmen des Seminars »Die verborgenen Mechanismen der Macht Aktuelle soziale Phänomene im Spiegel der Soziologie Pierre Bourdieus« an der Helmut-Schmidt-Universität in Hamburg gehalten wurden. Dieser Titel führt bereits nach der ersten Betrachtung zu mehreren Fragen. Wie lässt sich Macht definieren und welche unterschiedlichen Formen von Macht gibt es nach Pierre Bourdieu überhaupt? Was versteht Bourdieu unter ökonomischem Kapital? Welche weiteren Arten beziehungsweise Möglichkeiten von Kapital gibt es darüber hinaus noch? Diese Fragen wurden im Referat thematisiert und diskutiert und sollen im Rahmen der vorliegenden schriftlichen Ausarbeitung zu einer möglichst erschöpfenden Beantwortung gelangen. Um die zentralen Gedanken Bourdieus verständlich zu machen, werden zunächst Begriffe wie »Habitus« und »Feld« grundlegend und einheitlich definiert. Vor der im Fokus stehenden Betrachtung des Kapitalbegriffs werden Bourdieu und seine zentralen Werke vorgestellt. Eine befriedigende Erklärung des Bourdieuschen Kapitalbegriffs mit seinen drei Säulen, dem ökonomischen, kulturellen und sozialen Kapital soll zugleich Schwerpunkt und Ziel dieser Arbeit sein. Einige ausgewählte Abbildungen beziehungsweise Schemata sollen helfen dieses Ziel zu erreichen. Abschließende Betrachtungen runden die Ausarbeitung ab und stellen zugleich weiterführende Fragen, um die Diskussion bezüglich Pierre Bourdieus und seines Kapitalbegriffs am Leben zu halten.
