Příběh významné hanácké rodiny Svozilů, která měla na Moravě vliv politický i hospodářský, od konce 19. století do poloviny minulého století. Vyprávění spisovatelky Hermy Svozilové-Johnové o rodině svých předků, jejichž život byl spjat s úrodnou Hanou. Informace čerpala z rodových zápisků, dopisů a zejména ze svého archivu, který obsahoval četná alba fotografií a její deníky. První část vzpomínek je věnována širokému rodinnému společenství, rodičům a zástupu tet, strýců, bratranců a sestřenic včetně chůvy Andělky. V ukázkách z korespondence a výpovědích, líčí příběh vlastního života, kdy se vnuk a vnučka Josefa Svozila (zakladatele rodu) do sebe zamilují a založí rodinu. Poslední část je věnována autorčině životu po boku manžela, prostějovského starosty v letech 1937-39, vězněného účastníka odboje a exponovaného poválečného politika.
