Tony Silva je celosvětově uznávaný chovatel, ornitolog a publicista, který proslul zejména svou publikací Psittaculture. Tato kniha vyšla v roce 2015 také v České republice pod názvem Průvodce chovem papoušků a stala se ve své oblasti bestselerem. Za celou svou kariéru autor publikoval stovky odborných článků v sedmi světových jazycích, přednášel na všech kontinentech a je tvůrcem osmi knih.
