David Brower

    David Ross Brower fut un écologiste de premier plan et le fondateur de nombreuses organisations environnementales. Dans sa jeunesse, il fut un alpiniste remarquable. Il a fondé la Sierra Club Foundation, le John Muir Institute for Environmental Studies, Friends of the Earth, la League of Conservation Voters, l'Earth Island Institute, le North Cascades Conservation Council et les Fate of the Earth Conferences. En tant que premier Directeur Exécutif du Sierra Club de 1952 à 1969, il a également siégé à son conseil d'administration à trois reprises. Son activisme et son approche visionnaire ont laissé une marque indélébile dans la conservation de l'environnement.
