Vera Chapman

    8 mai 1898 – 14 mai 1996

    Vera Chapman, également connue sous le nom de Belladonna Took, a fondé la Société Tolkien et a convaincu J. R. R. Tolkien d'en devenir le président d'honneur. Elle fut l'une des premières femmes à s'inscrire à l'Université d'Oxford. Chapman est l'auteure de plusieurs ouvrages pseudo-historiques et arthuriens. Sa carrière d'écrivaine s'est étendue du milieu des années 1970 jusqu'à sa mort en 1996.
