    Bill Peet était un illustrateur de livres pour enfants et un auteur d'histoires pour les studios Disney. Arrivé chez Disney en 1937, il a contribué à de nombreux longs métrages d'animation appréciés. Après avoir connu le succès dans le développement d'histoires courtes pour Disney, Peet a lancé sa carrière d'auteur avec son premier livre publié, connu pour ses récits uniques et souvent humoristiques.
