Jeho zdařilá práce s postavami je patrná jak na samotném kultovním hrdinovi, tak i na pestré směsici vedlejších postaviček zlodějů, mocnářů, příležitostných žoldnéřů, čarodějů i démonů. Argentinský výtvarník Tomás Giorello oživuje příběh dechberoucími výjevy akčních bitev, stejně jako scénami s nádechem hrůzy či naopak procítěného dojetí. To vše umocňuje coloring JD Mettlera a Josého Villarrubii. Truman se navrací ke stejným historickým a mytologickým pramenům, jaké využíval i sám Howard, a s jejich pomocí dále rozpracovává jeho ideje. Výsledkem jsou příběhy jakoby z pera samotného Howarda. Máme tu oheň a krev, mrchožravé havrany i armádu mrtvých. Máme tu smrt, zoufalství i nezlomnou vůli. Máme tu zkrátka všechno, co si člověk může u příběhů o Conanovi přát. Kniha vychází opět v překladu Conanova českého objevitele Jana Kantůrka.
