In 'MENTAGRAMM IV' the artist Alexander Wiener designs his own imagesound world in homage to the story 'THE SECRET GARDEN' by Francis H. Burnett. In the process, piano compositions, the fantastic KD-L47 art machine and the sounds of completely newly invented instruments play an important role.

In MENTAGRAMM III - SCHIELE, EROS UND DIE KUNSTMASCHINE KD-L47 zeigt Alexander Nickl Skizzen und Zeichnungen des Jahres 2017. Seine sogenannten Mentagramme sind vor allem von den erotischen Zeichnungen Egon Schieles inspiriert. Präsentiert werden die Mentagramme in den Salons eines Neoprojektionstheaters. Die darin ausgestellten Bilder wurden im Jahr 2018 von einer Kunstmaschine, dem KD-L47, nach den Kriterien YES-art / NO-art bewertet.

Alexander Nickl is a light artist and neoprojectionist. Over nine years, he worked on an inner world, depicted in Mentagrams, which is documented in depth in the Viennese 'Mentagramm I'. The subsequent publication, 'Mentagramm II', presents new Mentagrams from 2014 to 2016, which tell of an outside world. This world is shown in numerous stage settings under the spotlight of the neoprojectionist theater. These?stage setting landscapes? consist of flowers, trees, dream images, contacts to artists, and news items. The question of which stage settings make their way into the presentation of the neoprojectionist theater is decided by a kind of Deus ex machina, the KD-L47.

Sein Medium ist das Licht, seine Form der Kreis, und die Leinwand ist der Raum. Alexander Nickl ist Lichtkünstler, er arbeitet mit großflächig-aufwändigen Illuminationen. Die Ruine der Wiener Sofiensäle erstrahlt in neuem Glanz, die Fassade der Karlskirche leuchtet wie aus einer anderen, märchenhaften Welt und sogar ein Öltanklager oder ein stillgelegtes Atomkraftwerk werden durch Nickls Lichtkunst zu einem ästhetisch-visuellen Ereignis. „Neoprojektion“ oder „psychophysische Projektion“ nennt Nickl seine Herangehensweise; die zahlreichen Skizzen und Studien, „Mentagramme“ genannt, gewähren zudem Einblick in jene gedanklichen Bewegungsprozesse, die dann nach außen getragen und zu Form, Farbe und Licht werden.
