Aufgrund kurzer Marktzyklen und intensiven Wettbewerbs um niedrigste Herstellungskosten für Konsumgüter sind Organisationen, individuelle Akteure und Prozesse dabei einem hohen Flexibilisierungsdruck unterworfen. Vor diesem Hintergrund überrascht es, dass die Flexibilitätsforschung die Kontraktfertigung in den weltmarktorientierten Produktionsregionen einiger Schwellenländer bislang vernachlässigte. Die vorliegende Untersuchung setzt sich daher zum Ziel, die geographische Flexibilitäts- und Arbeitsforschung um diese Perspektive zu erweitern. Die Situationsanalyse befasst sich mit der Flexibilität von Betrieben und Arbeitskräften in der Elektroindustrie der Produktionsregion Perlflussdelta (Südchina). Im Zentrum steht dabei die Frage nach dem Zusammenhang zwischen der Arbeitssituation, den soziodemographischen Strukturen und der Handlungsorientierung der Arbeitskräfte.
