Dick Kinney (1917-1985) begann seine Karriere iwe so viele seiner berühmter Kollegen als Trickfilmzeichner. Anfang der 40-er wurde er Storyman für Trickfilme bei Disney. Nach einem Zwischenspiel unter anderem bei Hanna-Barbera fing er für Disney an, Comics zu texten. In den Jahren 1963 bis 1970 erschuf er gemeinsam mit dem Zeichner Al Hubbard zahlreiche großartige Disney-Comics, von denen viele heute als Klassiker gelten. Kinney und Hubbard sind unter anderem die Erfinder solch illustrer Figuren wie Dussel Duck und Habakuk.
