Liz a toujours eu une passion pour l'art, la créativité et la lecture. La série a été inspirée après avoir eu son premier enfant (sur 3), car elle a trouvé difficile de trouver des livres qui favorisaient le courage lors de la transition à travers des étapes difficiles de l'enfance. Elle voulait que ses enfants trouvent leur courage intérieur pour embrasser le changement parce que c'était amusant, et non parce qu'on leur disait qu'ils devaient le faire. La série de livres de Liz a aidé des milliers d'enfants dans le monde et elle espère qu'elle continuera à inspirer toute une vie.
