“The problem with humans isn’t that we don’t see enough sunsets, but that we don’t watch long enough to see the stars come out.” He’s been self-harming now for months, though he’s not told anyone. One day after work, 8000 miles from home, he writes his suicide note and starts to look for a way to ‘check out’ – but he’s got a lot to learn yet. How did this strong willed, bright young man end up so defeated? How does he survive homelessness, domestic abuse and the gradual wearing away of his mental health? The answer didn’t come from a doctor or guru, but a rather unusual friend – a ferret called Bandit!“Sooner or later you must let the current of life guide us to where we need to be - always choose sooner.”Before Our Adventures chronicles the life of Charles Hammerton and his beloved pet ferret, Bandit, before they became popular with their many media appearances and fundraising activities. Charlie uses the wisdom gained in these hard times to guide his readers to an understanding of how to embrace even the most painful of experiences through his philosophy, positivity, and inability to settle for an average life! Get ready for vulnerability, heartbreak and hope. This is the perfect book for a reader looking for a positive, uplifting story written in a conversational style, or to give encouragement to a young man or woman struggling to find their place in the world.
