Mathematics is a creative and highly inter-connected discipline that is essential to everyday life, critical to science, technology and engineering, and necessary for financial literacy and most forms of employment. Concrete - the use of objects that can be handled or manipulated to explain how to accurately calculate the number sentence. Abstract - the use of efficient formal written methods applied to prove the accurate calculation of the number sentence. Pictorial - the use of mathematical images to show representations of the accurate calculation of the number sentence. Reasoning - the use of real-life scenarios to put the number sentence into context, to understand which efficient method or strategy to apply.
