En savoir plus sur le livre
I have tried hard to revive the myths of Minoan times, so that the reader, especially children of twelve years and over, can relive them as intensely as possible. The reader will also enter the gate of the great palace, approach King Minos, admire Minoan art and architecture, take part in their festivals and applaud their artistry. Many elements of life in those days have been left out, but surely some of the glory of the oldest civilization in Europe, our Minoan civilization, will stay with the reader forever. This civilisation is reflected in the various undying myths that have survived for 3,500 years. 'It was only then that they realised the incomparable splendour of the Minoan civilization, the oldest in Europe, a civilization defined by its love of life, its elegance, its liveliness and its harmony with nature. Wanting to congratulate their ancestors and, above all, the 'ruler of the land of the Keftiu', they all shouted as loud as they could: 'Hail, King Minos!', and clapped harder than they had ever done before!'
