En savoir plus sur le livre

Typefaces is a new idea in graphic design reference material -- almost 600 designs related to one theme: faces created from type. From the very earliest pre-historic times, man has created images of himself, first in cave paintings and petroglyphs, and later in figural ceramic vases. By the time that the first alphabets were created there was already a long tradition of using the image of man to explain man. It didn't take too many years before letters were used to define faces on signets, as personal marks, and ultimately as symbols for business. Typefaces explores this amusing icon of the graphic designer -- logos, editorial material and illustrations are all covered in great depth.
