Plutarch Lives I

Évaluation du livre

En savoir plus sur le livre

This eighth volume of Plutarch's Lives contains the biographies of Theseus, Romulus, Solon, Publicola, Cimon, and Lucullus. Theseus, the legendary hero of Athens, and Romulus, the founder of Rome, lived in such a distant past that myths and legends obscure their historicity. Publicola is also associated with famous Roman legends. With Solon, the lawgiver of Athens, we enter written history. Cimon and Lucullus were renowned generals of Athens and Rome, respectively, who both fought against the eastern empires of the Persians and Armenians. Plutarch once again proves to be a master of thrilling and astonishing stories.
