Die bandkeramischen Befunde und Funde vom Mühlengrund in Rosdorf, Ldkr. Göttingen

En savoir plus sur le livre

Between 1963-70 and 2016, 2.6 ha of a Linear Pottery settlement were excavated on a Loess ridge adjacent to the River Rase, a tributary of the River Leine. This volume presents comprehensive evidence of features and finds for comparative analysis, with a focus on pottery and the classification and chronological arrangement of 54 excavated houses. These houses were categorized by construction types and ground plans, and organized chronologically based on construction characteristics and pottery finds. The development of pottery was analyzed alongside the evolution of building ground plans. The primary occupation period was identified as Stage II, or the Flomborn Phase, while Stage III had limited evidence, and the settlement was abandoned at the start of Stage IV in the excavated area. The text also explores potential cultic or ritual features within house contexts, along with discussions on settlement and social structures. Additionally, it includes findings of knapped and polished stone tools, querns, and organic remains.
