Born in Athens and now based in Brussels, Anna Gerolymatou has pursued extensive training in painting, drawing, and mixed media techniques. She studied composition and decoration at the Royal Academy of Brussels and has participated in workshops focusing on encaustic techniques and art history. Throughout her artistic journey, she has aimed to transcend verbal communication, channeling her emotions into her art. Gerolymatou has developed a unique collage technique that employs mixed media, inviting diverse interpretations from viewers. Her work evokes emotional states tied to a past era, reflecting her desire to recreate and highlight beauty through finesse and elegance. The 'Belle Époque' and 'Art Deco' periods significantly influence her artistic vision. She utilizes various materials, including paper, acrylics, inks, fabrics, and found images, to create her pieces. Her talent has been recognized with several accolades, including a Certificate from the Fédération Nationale de la Culture Nationale - ART EN CAPITAL 2015 at the Grand Palais, a Certificate of Excellence at the 21st ArtVita Competition in 2017, and an Honourable Mention Award from the Circle Foundation for the Arts.
