En savoir plus sur le livre
Interpixel, the Zurich-based artists Eva-Maria Würth and Philippe Sablonier, present a reader addressing the theme of "Kriegsgebiet Kinderzimmer," combining project documentation and an artist book. This publication explores a controversial and timely topic through an artistic lens, incorporating texts from philosophy, ethics, peace politics, law, psychology, media studies, pedagogy, sociology, and neurobiology. Launched in 2006 for the 125th anniversary of the Bourbaki Panorama in Lucerne, the "Mega Buster" art project examines societal issues related to war toys, media consumption, and youth violence. As part of this initiative, over fifty school classes, along with children, teenagers, and adults in Switzerland, participated in a disarmament action, the results of which were showcased in an exhibition at the Kunstpanorama Lucerne. This publication not only contributes to the societal discussion on war toys and media-induced violence but also documents the "Mega Buster" art action in both text and imagery, making it accessible to a wider audience. The contributors address cultural, societal, and social aspects, providing a rich basis for informed discussion grounded in the latest scientific findings. "Mega Buster" seeks to engage with a frequently debated topic through artistic strategies, resulting in a compelling and thought-provoking book.
