In Far West Nepal, an area notably impoverished, labor migration to India has been a key livelihood strategy for generations. This research examines male and female migrants from four villages in Delhi, focusing on their daily lives, including working and living conditions, loan management, savings, and remittance transfers. The migration process is largely supported by transnational kin and friendship networks. An integrative approach combines sustainable livelihoods, Bourdieu's theory of practice, social capital, and transnational migration concepts to understand the migrants' geographical and social contexts. Findings indicate that most migrants are male, with unskilled workers occupying specific roles such as watchmen and car cleaners, passed down through networks. The job market is highly organized, with positions exchanged within these connections. Female migrants, when in Delhi for extended periods, typically find work in housekeeping. To address financial needs, migrants form informal savings and credit associations. While many view migration as an opportunity, it can also lead to ongoing debt and dependency, potentially resulting in lifelong migration.
