The Third International Conference on E-commerce and Web Technology (EC-Web 2002) took place alongside DEXA 02 in Aix-en-Provence, France. Established in 2000 in Greenwich, UK, this conference has become a prominent forum for researchers and industry developers to explore the latest advancements in E-commerce and web technology. Engaging discussions during formal sessions and social events inspired new ideas and collaborations. Keynote addresses and research presentations facilitated the exchange of knowledge among attendees. The conference received over 100 submissions, each reviewed by at least three program committee members. Ultimately, 40 high-quality papers were selected for presentation and publication, highlighting the rigorous selection process. We extend our gratitude to the program committee members and external reviewers for their thorough evaluations, as well as to the organizing committee for their administrative support. Special thanks are due to Gabriela Wagner and Maria Schweikert for their unwavering assistance throughout the event.
